DAVID PAYMER

DAVID PAYMER is a man of many faces, having scored successes on film (most notably for his Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated performance in "Mr. Saturday Night"), television and stage.

The versatile actor launched his professional career at 22 as Sonny Latieri in the national tour and later the Broadway production of "Grease," with Patrick Swayze and Treat Williams. Shortly afterwards, Paymer was cast in his first feature film, "The In-Laws," which brought the actor to Hollywood. Working steadily ever since, his other screen appearances include "Quiz Show," "Heart and Souls," "Searching for Bobby Fischer," "City Slickers," "Crazy People," "No Way Out," "Irreconcilable Differences," and "Perfect."

On television, Paymer was a regular on the ABC series "The Commish," and had recurring roles on such critically-acclaimed series as "Cagney and Lacey" and "The Paper Chase." In addition, he has had guest-starring roles on such classic TV series as "Cheers," "LA Law," "Murphy Brown," "Hill Street Blues," "Happy Days," "St. Elsewhere" and "Taxi." Among his other credits, Paymer has starred in several television movies such as "Love, Mary," "The Grace Kelly Story" and "Pleasures."

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Paymer studied acting at the University of Michigan.

He has also taught acting at both UCLA and the Film Actor's Workshop, and has performed stand-up comedy at The Improv and The Comedy Store.

Paymer's upcoming features include "City Hall" with Al Pacino, "Get Shorty" with John Travolta and Danny DeVito, "Nixon" with Anthony Hopkins and "Car Pool" with Tom Arnold.
