MICHAEL J FOX

Possessed with the keen ability to shift effortlessly between comedy and drama, MICHAEL J. FOX has risen to international stardom with a diversified career. With starring roles in the motion pictures "Back to the Future" and its successors "Back to the Future II" and "Back to the Future III"; "The Hard Way"; "The Secret of My Success"; "Bright Lights, Big City"; "Light of Day"; "Casualties of War"; "Life with Mikey"; "Doc Hollywood"; and "For Love or Money"; Fox has established himself as an actor eager to explore every corner of his craft. Most recently, Fox was seen in the film "Greedy" and in Woody Allen's "Don't Drink the Water" for ABC-TV.

Best known to television audiences for his triple Emmy Award winning portrayal of lovable, conservative Alex P. Keaton on the hit NBC series "Family Ties," Fox has ably enshrined Alex alongside television's most lovable and memorable characters.

Born Michael Andrew Fox in Edmonton, Alberta, he adopted the "J" as an homage to legendary character actor Michael J. Pollard. Moving several times in the course of his childhood, Fox and his family settled in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver. His attention turned to acting in his teenage years when at the age of 15 he made his professional acting debut in the CBS sitcom "Leo and Me."

Venturing to Los Angeles at the age of 18, Fox struggled through a string of bit parts and short-lived series before landing "Family Ties." Fox's career quickly rose to prominence during the seven seasons of the endearing show.

Besides acting, Fox has explored other aspects of filmmaking; he has directed an episode of the popular HBO series "Tales From the Crypt" starring Terri Garr, Bruno Kirby and himself; and is developing projects for his own company, Snowback Productions.
